Inspirational Reflections
What is Faith
A collection of someone's personal testimonies reflecting on the ordinary experiences of life, meditating on them and putting faith in them, are the ordinary moments that become a living encounter in faith and meeting Jesus.
We face many difficulties and pains in life, and at times are tempted to give up. Some even blame God for allowing tragedies to happen. Others stop going to the church to pray. And still others just lose hope because of life's uncertainties. These things clearly happen because of a lack of or a weakness in faith.
Saint Paul rightly encourages believers to put on faith and love as a breastplate, the hope of salvation as a helmet, the Word of God as a sword of the Spirit (See 1 Thes. 5:8; Eph. 6:17).
This is the same challenge that the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, calls to everyone: "All of the faithful, called to renew the gift of faith, should try to communicate their own experiences of faith and charity to their brothers and sisters" (Porta Fidei, Pastoral Recommendations).
