If you are interested in becoming a spiritual child of Saint Padre Pio and would like to join a Padre Pio Prayer Group - either in a spiritual manner or in person - we have initiated this page wherein you can choose either to pray along with us as a spiritual member of one of our six prayers groups or join us in person at one of the meeting sites. You can choose which group best suits your particular situation. Once you have decided to join a group - and if you are unable to attend the meetings - please send us your contact information using the contact form at the bottom of the home page in order for us to register you as a member of that prayer group and also as a spiritual child of Padre Pio. If you live in the Boston area and would like to attend our Prayer Group meetings below are the times and places when the meetings are held.

Act of Consecration to St. Joseph

O my beloved St. Joseph, adopt me as thy child. Take charge of my salvation; watch over me day and night; preserve me from the occasions of sin; obtain for me purity of body. Through thy intercession with Jesus, grant me a spirit of sacrifice, humility, self-denial, burning love for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and a sweet and tender love for Mary, my mother. St. Joseph, be with me living, be with me dying and obtain for me a favorable judgment from Jesus, my merciful Savior. Amen.
October Prayer To Saint Joseph
Introduction
This prayer to Saint Joseph — spouse of the Virgin Mary, foster father of Jesus, and patron saint of the universal Church — was composed by Pope Leo XIII in his 1889 encyclical, Quamquam pluries. He asked that it be added to the end of the Rosary, especially during the month of October, which is dedicated to the Rosary. The prayer is enriched with a partial indulgence (Handbook of Indulgences, conc. 19), and may be said after the customary Salve Regina and concluding prayer. It may also be used to conclude other Marian devotions.
Prayer to Saint Joseph for the Month of October
To thee, O blessed Joseph, do we fly in our tribulation; and having implored the help of thy most holy spouse, we confidently crave thy patronage also. Through that charity which bound thee to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God, and through the paternal love with which thou didst embrace the Child Jesus, we humbly beseech thee graciously to regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ hath purchased by His Blood and with thy power and strength to aid us in our necessities.
O most watchful guardian of the Divine family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ; O most loving Father, ward off from us every contagion of error and corrupting influence; O our most mighty protector, be propitious to us, and from heaven assist us in this our struggle with the power of darkness; and as once thou didst rescue the Child Jesus from deadly peril, so now protect God’s Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity: Shield, too, each one of us by thy constant protection, so that, supported by thine example and thine aid, we may be able to live piously, to die holily, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven. Amen.
Prayer For Persecuted Christians
O God of all the nations, the One God who is and was and always will be, in your providence you willed that your Church be united to the suffering of your Son. Look with mercy on your servants who are persecuted for their faith in you. Grant them perseverance and courage to be worthy imitators of Christ. Bring your wisdom upon leaders of nations to work for peace among all peoples. May your Spirit open conversion for those who contradict your will, that we may live in harmony. Give us the grace to be united in truth and freedom, and to always seek your will in our lives.

Prayer For Those Who Persecute You
Dear God, the Alpha and the Omega, I thank you for being by my side when, for no reason, they persecute me.
Lord, it hurts so much when I am abused, accused and condemned. They bring all manner of falsehoods against me.
But in the midst of it all, I know that you will preserve me. I will arise stronger and better because you are on my side.
No weapon formed against me shall prosper. You, Lord, are all-powerful and almighty. And despite the situation I’m in, I place my trust in you.
All things work for good for those that love the Lord, are your assuring words.
Continually speak your assurances into my heart and fill me with your peace that passes all understanding. For Lord, I cry out to you today! Nothing is too difficult for you.

Romans 12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Release The Burden When Persecuted
Sometimes it’s so hard, it’s a struggle to cope. But I use this opportunity now to release this burden unto you, oh Lord.
Take me and carry me in your arms. Bring me through it all safely.
Pay attention to my prayer, for my enemies insult me all day, and they use my name for a curse word. But I choose to stand in your glory. I will not be moved!
Luke 6:27-28 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”
Proverbs 24:29 Do not say, “I’ll do to them as they have done to me; I’ll pay them back for what they did.
For All Who Are Persecuted, The Lord Brings Justice
Your word says that for all who are persecuted, the Lord brings justice. But Heavenly Father, please forgive them, because they truly do not understand what they are doing, and they don’t know what it is to be a child of the Living God.
Don’t let your wrath fall upon them. Despite what they attempt to do to me, Lord, bring them back one day in repentance for their evil.
As you did with Joseph, lift me up on high. In the meanwhile, shield my thoughts with your peace, comfort my soul with your love.
Dry my tears. I praise and thank you for everything, in Jesus’ name, AMEN!

Prayer To Saint Padre Pio To Become A Spiritual Child
Dear Padre Pio: I recall your promise to Jesus, "Lord, I will stand at the gates of heaven until I see all my spiritual children have entered."
Encouraged by your gracious promise, I ask you to accept me as a spiritual child and to intercede for my prayer requests... (Here state your intentions).

Make the Sign of the Cross.
Holding the Crucifix, say the Apostles' Creed.
On the first bead, say an Our Father.
Say one Hail Mary on each of the next three beads.
Say the Glory Be
For each of the five decades, announce the Mystery (perhaps followed by a brief reading from Scripture) then say the Our Father.
While fingering each of the ten beads of the decade, next say ten Hail Mary's while meditating on the Mystery. Then say a Glory Be.
(After finishing each decade, some say the following prayer requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima: O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell; lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who have most need of your mercy.)
After saying the five decades, say the Hail, Holy Queen, followed by this dialogue and prayer:
V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

How To Recite The Chaplet Of Divine Mercy For The Sick And Dying
A Divine Mercy Message Of Hope:
The sinner at the last moment
I often attend upon the dying and through entreaties obtain for them trust in God’s mercy, and I implore God for an abundance of divine grace, which is always victorious. God’s mercy sometimes touches the sinner at the last moment in a wondrous and mysterious way. Outwardly, it seems as if everything were lost, but it is not so. The soul, illumined by a ray of God’s powerful final grace, turns to God in the last moment with such a power of love that, in an instant, it receives from God forgiveness of sin and punishment, while outwardly it shows no sign either of repentance or of contrition, because souls [at that stage] no longer react to external things.
Oh, how beyond comprehension is God’s mercy! But — horror! — there are also souls who voluntarily and consciously reject and scorn this grace! Although a person is at the point of death, the merciful God gives the soul that interior vivid moment, so that if the soul is willing, it has the possibility of returning to God. But sometimes, the obduracy in souls is so great that consciously they choose hell; they [thus] make useless all the prayers that other souls offer to God for them and even the efforts of God Himself. - (Diary 1698)

The Blessing of Saint Francis of Assisi
The Blessing of St. Francis of Assisi
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord show His face to you and have mercy on you.
May the Lord smile upon you and give you His peace. Amen.
Note:
Within the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi is a precious relic: a small, crumpled piece of yellowed parchment with the writing of St. Francis, now displayed in a silver reliquary. It was written on Mount La Verna after St. Francis had received the stigmata. The first biographer of St. Francis, Bl. Thomas of Celano wrote that for a long time St. Francis’s friend, Brother Leo, had greatly desired to have some memorial from the words of Our Lord written by St. Francis.
